Comment: NSAC Applauds Introduction of the Nutritious Meals, Balanced Young children Act 

Washington, DC, July 21, 2022 – Today, the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) issued the following comment, attributable to Mike Lavender, NSAC Interim Plan Director, in response to the launch of the Residence version of the Baby Nourishment Reauthorization (CNR) the Wholesome Foods, Healthful Children Act.

“The Nationwide Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) is delighted to see the Dwelling of Representatives model of the Kid Nutrition Reauthorization (CNR), the Nutritious Foods, Balanced Children Act, that was introduced yesterday by House Training and Labor Chairman Bobby Scott (D-VA). The launch of the Property CNR invoice is a positive and essential action on the route towards reauthorizing essential childhood nourishment systems, which includes school meals and farm-to-university courses. The bill is essential to ensuring wholesome foods access and strengthening the market place connections that preserve foodstuff pounds in area communities. NSAC applauds the inclusion of Farm-to-School grants of $15 million for every year (up from $5 million,) facilitating area buying, and the authority and authorization for $35 million a 12 months for kitchen area gear that allows universities invest in complete, nearby products.
