Florida State Board Boots Doctors Who Advocated for COVID Vax for Kids
A doctor who advocated for parents to get COVID-19 vaccines for kids underneath 5 decades stated she was unceremoniously removed from a Florida board focusing on kids’ wellness.
“On the same day that we commenced administering COVID-19 vaccine to infants and kids underneath 5, I was taken out from the Florida Healthful Youngsters Board for advocating for equitable access for the underserved and for pediatricians,” Dr. Lisa Gwynn wrote on Twitter before this week. “Disappointing.”

Gwynn, a practicing pediatrician within just the College of Miami Overall health Program, been given an email on Wednesday telling her she was being eradicated from her placement on the Florida Wholesome Children Board of administrators since of “some incredibly political statements that do not replicate the CFO’s place of check out,” Florida Politics documented.
The email claimed Gwynn has explained “that the condition is ‘obstruct[ing]’ entry to vaccines” and pointed out that the point out CFO, Jimmy Patronis, differs in belief.

Florida is the only state that has not requested COVID-19 vaccines for young children less than 5, even with an endorsement from the Centers for Disorder Command and Avoidance.
